The best bread in Bucerias and probably the whole bay comes from Panaderia Yunior, an almost invisible bakery on the south side of town at the base of the pedestrian bridge which connects to downtown.
I know very little about the place. The owner’s name is Roberto. He is from Italy, somewhere near Rome and I believe he used to have a restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. When I visited the bakery this morning Roberto wasn’t in so I didn’t get any more details.
Roberto makes all of the bread in a wood-fired oven. The breads are hearty and rustic, the kinds you see in food magazines with olive oil drizzled on them. Much of his production goes to restaurants around the bay. The bakery is open to the public but you must get there early because his bread sells out every day. I was lucky. I bought the last loaf available about 11:30am.

This is not Wonder Bread. This is the real deal and a real steal. I paid $15 pesos for a large, handmade loaf of bread baked in a wood-fired oven. It costs the same as a generic loaf of bread from the grocery store.

Hi,
I live right by the little footbridge across the arroyo in Bucerias, but have neither smelled nor seen this bakery. Have only been here a week so maybe there is another bridge you are referring to?
Thanks,
Laury
