In the center of the Cuale river is an island filled with vendors and restaurants. The island can be accessed on the east and west ends by stairs from the highway or from the north and south on two small pedestrian suspension bridges.
Getting to the island on the suspension bridges is the way to go. You get a great view of the river and you get to test your balance at the same time. The floorboards wobble and the bridges swing side to side. When a number of people are on the bridge and their footsteps are out-of-sync everybody stumbles along as if they have had a few too many margaritas.
