Too bad they did not leave the milk in the coconut, drinking it out of the plastic bag just does not seem as tropical (or fresh). I'm guessing the vendor wants to keep the coconut, selling the meat later.

Puerto Vallarta was one of my father's favorite places to visit. It is easy to see why.

I think that 40 pesos to have the coconut delivered/cut and served is not too bad. I wouldn't climb that tree for that price ;) Love coconuts and love all the fresh food&beverage opportunities at every corner in this country.

I wouldn't recommend trying the 'alcoholic' version though (Coco Loco) if on the beach, out in the sun, during the day. They are usually much too strong and may dehydrate you for the rest of your Vallarta visit.

I loved Puerto Vallarta, we stayed at Los Tules Holtes thanks to our royal holiday membership points, and we enjoyed some coconut milk and "meat" with lime and salt, it actually tasted really good highly recommend it.

That's crazy! We are used to paying $10 or $12 pesos for coconut milk...plus, you get the coconut 'meat' in a separate bag at that price.
Keep in mind that coconuts are plentiful and most often you can climb up any trees and get them for free.
Now that's what I call entrepeneurship!
