This past Sunday we decided that we would take a walk downtown and try to look at Puerto Vallarta through a tourist’s eyes. We have lived in Vallarta full time since 2001 and don’t always see the town with the same excitement that we did when we first arrived.
The day was a perfect Puerto Vallarta Day, blue skies and warm with none of the humidity that comes later in the year. We stopped to appreciate Our Lady of Guadalupe church, Puerto Vallarta’s best known landmark.
The church is striking with it’s crown. When you see it nearly every day you forget how beautiful it is. As tourist, a visit to Our Lady of Guadalupe is a must. It is the heart of the city. The best vantage point to see the church is from the main plaza. Be sure to go inside.
Virtual Vallarta has a great history of Our Lady of Guadalupe church.
