Starbucks opened in Puerto Vallarta about two years ago with the first shop opening in the airport. Since then they have opened four more coffee shops around town. The other Starbucks are located on the main plaza downtown, Plaza Peninsula, and Galerias Vallarta - Liverpool, and the new terminal at the airport.
All of the Starbuck’s locations are popular. I would say they are even more popular with the locals than tourists.
This is the Starbucks coffee shop located on the main plaza downtown. It located in front of Los Arcos and the boardwalk and is a good place to people watch.
In case you were wondering, Starbucks serves all of the same drinks and foods that it does back home. If you have a particular favorite, you won’t be dissapointed.
Free Wi-Fi is available at all locations so that you are able to keep in touch.

There is a second Starbuck’s at the aiport inside the new section of gates in the departure area. All of them also offer free WIFI access.
I didn’t know about the second location in the airport. Thanks for the tip.
Does having a Starbucks nearby seem a little bit too much like home? To me, visiting a Starbucks while staying in PV as a tourist is sort of like eating at McDonald’s in Paris.
In a way, I think it’s kind of sad that the world is becoming overrun by the same vendors. But I guess it wouldn’t be fair to deny the Mexicans the pleasures of Starbucks either.
You are very welcome. It’s a little hidden but at least you can have some coffee while waiting to depart. Have you been in the new International departure area? It’s very nice but a bit of a haul.
Nice blog BTW- keep up the great work!
Having starbucks in Puerto Vallarta does make it seem a little bit more like everywhere else. But, people in town have really taken to Starbucks so I can’t begrudge them their success. I say that as a former owner of a coffee shop in Puerto Vallarta.
Brenda,
I changed the post to include the most recent location in the airport.
Fucking pathetic!!
