Art Opening for Sara Garcia

Galeria Flores is hosting an art opening for artist Sara Garcia Saturday, February 14 at 6:00pm. The opening is a great way to start your Valentine’s Day evening.

In addition to the works by Sara Garcia, you will be able to see hundreds of great artworks from the other artists represented by Galeria Flores: Rodolfo Morales, Ian Sanchez, Luis Castellanos Valui, Nube, and Ribot.

Galeria Flores is located in the space above Memo’s Fine Art Framing Shop, which many of you already know. We’ll see you there!

Saturday, November 24 is the grand opening of the new Galeria Flores. The owners Pam and Fernando Flores are good friends of ours whom we have known since we first arrived in Puerto Vallarta. I know I have been promoting them a lot recently in the blog and I am doing it because I want to see them get off to a great start in their latest venture.

Galeria Flores will be having its grand opening in its new location this Saturday, November 24 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Their new space is larger than their previous space in Marina Vallarta and includes a gallery showroom, a working artist’s studio, and a classroom.

The featured artist is Ian Sanchez who will be unveiling new works in watercolors and acrylics. Ian will be there all evening to greet the guests and answer questions about his work.

Galeria Flores is located at Francisco Villa #305 in Colonia Olimpica, Puerto Vallarta. It is directly in front of the water company (SEAPAL) and is one block north of the municipal stadium. Many people already are familiar with the location because it is above
the framing shop, Enmarcados GMC. Most people know the framing shop as
Memo’s Frame Shop. Nearly all of the galleries in Puerto Valarta use
Memo’s framing services as do most fine art buyers.

Pam and Fernando Flores, the owners of Galeria Flores, are good friends
of ours who we met at their gallery in Marina Vallarta when we first
arrived in Puerto Vallarta over six years ago. They have operated a gallery for more than twenty years. Their first gallery was in Tepoztlan, Morelos. About ten years ago they came to Puerto Vallarta and opened Galeria Flores.

In this new space, Galeria Flores will be offering a series of art courses beginning in January 2008. Also, invitations will be extended to working artists to come and use the studio space to share ideas with other artists.

Ian Sanchez is a good friend and my favorite artist currently working in Puerto Vallarta. His talents are numerous. He is a painter, a published illustrator, filmaker, musician, and certified paramedic. He describes his artistic style as whimsical naïve and takes much of his influence from the town of Tepoztlan, Morelos where he grew up.
